Do you have a CPA you’ve been working with for years?

We work closely, and in conjunction with, your current CPAs so that all your company’s Accounting is geared towards your particular tax strategy. In addition to fully maintaining your company’s finances, we can also work with you on a project-by-project basis.

What size businesses does AGATHA K work with?

We specialize in small to middle-market companies, with anywhere from 3 to 200 employees. For the smaller sized firms we act as the outsourced Accounting department. In larger firms we take over any additional workload that the onsite, full-time Accountant does not have time for.

Do you require space in our office?

All work is done at our offices in West LA. At specific intervals we schedule regular phone calls and/or status meetings at your offices to review all the data.

How many employees are there in AGATHA K?

We have a team of longtime, reliable sub-contractors that we use on an as-needed basis. However, as quality control is extremely important to me, all of their work is personally double-checked by me before it is ever presented to you.

What is the difference between an Accountant and a CPA?

They are essentially the same, however a CPA has taken and passed the certification exam and is licensed to prepare taxes and sign audited financial statements. I am an Accountant, with an Accounting degree, and have all the requirements necessary to sit for the exam. However, I have chosen not to take it at this time, because tax preparation and auditing are not part of the services that AGATHA K offers.

Does AGATHA K handle the financials for individuals?

We mainly focus on businesses, but if an individual has a need we approach it on a case by case basis.

Why do you do bookkeeping and not CPA work?

I enjoy bookkeeping and acting as a CFO/Controller because I enjoy interacting with my clients on a continuous basis. My Accounting background allows me to bring a high level of knowledge to my clients, while the nature of the work helps build close relationships with them, which I enjoy tremendously. I don’t enjoy CPA work – like tax preparation or auditing – as it lends itself to interacting with clients less often.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. For ongoing maintenance services you sign a basic at-will contract. That means we can end or continue our relationship as long or short as we both want. For premium project based services we sign a service agreement for that project only.
